As part of China’s reform and development, the focus of Chinese government gradually inclines to the western part of China so as to achieve a more balanced and sustainable economic development. The central government has issued a series of policies to support the Western Development Strategy. West China Cement (WCC), a western based cement group, is set to make use this great opportunity to achieve ongoing development and prosperity.

·AIM Listing—The First step to go public
On 4th December 2006, WCC was successfully listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in London. This was a milestone for the company’s development. AIM listing allows the company to arouse awareness of global investors and to utilize the international capital market as a platform to facilitate corporate development.
·Strategic Location
Headquartered in Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province, WCC has three production facilities adopting NCPP technology. The three facilities are Pucheng, Lantian and Ankang. Each features its own advantages and contributes to the overall growth of the group.
- Pucheng Plant
As the oldest production facility of WCC, Pucheng Plant witnessed the 30 years’ development of the group. Being the largest manufacturer in Weinan region, north east of Xi’an, the overall annual capacity of three production lines there is 1.5m tonnes, which occupies majority shares of Weinan cement market.

- Lantian Plant
Only 35 meters away from Xi’an, Lantian Plant is the nearest cement production facility to the provincial capital. The annual production capacity of Lantian facilities is 2m tonnes. It is also supported by a 4.5MW waste heat power generation plant.
Several projects have been planned near Xi’an. This will boost the demand for high quality cement. The close approximate between Lantian and Xi’an, which means lower transportation cost, puts WCC in a strong position to supply to Xi’an market.

- Ankang Plant
Being the newest production facility of WCC, Ankang plant with a 1.8m designed annual capacity is targeted to complete and commence production by early 2009. Aiming at the market in the southeastern Shaanxi, Ankang Plant could, to great extent, alleviate the shortage of cement supply in this area and enjoy a higher cement price compare with the other two plants.
